About the Captain

Captain Scott R. Gaston has been delivering sailing and power yachts for more than 20 years. Based out of Lewes, DE, he has transited the Panama Canal in both directions, the Intracoastal Waterway numerous times and crossed the equator. His experience covers near coastal and offshore routes from Maine to Florida, the Bahamas and western Caribbean Islands, the East and West coast of Central America, the Galapagos Islands, Mexico and Southern California. His single hand sailing experience includes the delivery of a 34-foot yacht from Norwalk, CT to Lewes, DE.
He sailed his Tartan37C to the Caribbean where he lived aboard. While in the US Virgin Islands he was the captain on a 93-ton car ferry and various power and sailboats. His sail home included stops in the BVI’s, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Miami, FL.
He is skilled at the helm of all sailing craft from sunfish to square-rigged ships and power driven yachts. He has over two months sea time on board the USCGC Barque Eagle, a 295 foot square-rigger, standing Helm/Lookout, Bos’n Mate and Oiler watches.
Captain Gaston is an active sailing instructor and Sea Scout leader teaching individuals of all ages boating and safety skills.
